On March 2nd and 3rd we held two exhibitions that gave the public an opportunity to examine our amendments to the submitted planning application for the Charlton Riverside area. Both events gave us a welcome opportunity to engage with the local community and demonstrate the actions we have taken following the responses we have received.
The proposals, which are under review by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, propose to construct 771 properties on the 2.5ha site. We are now offering buildings that do not exceed 10 storeys and have altered the materials to be used in the construction, to better reflect the existing landscape. Following close cooperation with the Council, we have also committed to delivering 25% affordable housing.
At Rockwell, we are focused on redefining social and living spaces and our plans reflect this. The new proposals offer a variety of stylish properties, including townhouses with generous gardens to apartment complexes with adjoining community green spaces. We are also seeking to upgrade local residents’ gardens, to enhance the amount of green space within the area. The Charlton Riverside project will additionally feature the creation of flexible use commercial areas comprising of offices, retail units, restaurants and sustainable amenity spaces.
This ongoing consultation and open dialogue with residents has been essential to helping us develop plans that will best suit Charlton Riverside. We are committed to maintaining an open channel with local authorities and residents throughout the planning application and beyond.
